GET INVOLVED
Here are some of the ways you can get involved and make a difference in the lives of these children/learners: because, if it were not for concerned and generous people like you we simply would not be able to do and continue to do the work that we do. And if this were not the case then who would give these children a refuge when their home lives have been torn apart or support groups to teach them coping mechanisms and self reliance with independent resources , thus enabling them to endure and surpass their current predicament when they are overloaded through difficult times?
Sponsor a learner in one of our in house training programs and initiatives that we offer to the general public for only R 3300/month. This ensures that the child has food, clothing, primary or secondary education, rehabilitation in a place of safety and a caring loving environment in which to grow and enrich their potential. You are more than welcome to Email them, and they will gladly reply to you to inform you how much the value from your personal support is appreciated and to tell you how much your involvement means to them. (This will reinforce the fact that somebody actually cares in so far as the leaner and the general public are concerned) Children are the resource to which we hold the marker of the future generation; with showing interest in these learners you are directly achieving your requirements and expectations for the children.
In addition to the Sponsor a leaner You are invited as well to invest further to sponsor a young person to complete an additional specified work skill ( set of hands on training programs )while under rehabilitation and care in our place of safety. Should they require one of our programs we can easily supply The cost for the extra tuition as these vary greatly , taking into consideration as to whether or not it is one of our in-house programs, depending upon the program attended and the course taken, and is beyond what we can support through our normal sponsorship programs at our training centre. This would then fall under a Bursary /Scholarship Program
You can also alternatively donate towards a specific development project that will benefit all the children at our Training centre. Support a Project, sponsorship fees cover only the basic needs of our children. Funds are also needed to build facilities and infrastructures alike, for example upgrading or remodelling existing school buildings, school supplies, vehicles, etc. This initiative falls under the latitude of Support a Project
Your personal input in a personal capacity where you can volunteer to work as part of the parents or care givers team is appreciated as much as other forms of donations. All of our South African based staff works on a volunteer basis from their own homes. We normally have openings to cater for specific needs categories or projects. If you are interested in investing your time to help these children please feel free to contact us. Your time is as valuable to us as are your resources.
The State subsidies if available are only cover 11% of our expenses and so we rely heavily on our partnerships with caring people / interested industry / and volunteers like yourselves who understand the need to invest in the future of children or learners requiring work skills who have had greater hardships and less opportunities than we have had.
The good news is that government gives an incentive in the form of a tax rebate for donations given to registered NGO and NPO agencies. Taxpayers can claim this deduction on their annual tax return and enjoy a refund of up to 100% of the donation, subject to tax rules of course.
